FAQ

General information

Answer:

At KOMBI, warmth begins with strong partnerships. We work with a carefully selected network of over 50 partner factories around the world—including right here in Canada. Each one is chosen for its craftsmanship, ethical practices, and commitment to quality.

Several of them manufacture exclusively for us, acting as a true extension of the KOMBI family. Our Montreal team visits regularly to ensure our standards are met, from the first stitch to final shipment.

Because behind every cozy accessory is a whole lot of care, collaboration, and winter know-how.

Answer:

Absolutely. At KOMBI, kindness matters—in our products and our supply chain.

Our merino wool is certified non-mulesed, meaning it comes from sheep treated with care, not cruelty. We’ve said a firm no to mulesing, a harmful practice we don’t support, period.

Our down and leather come from certified sources that prioritize animal welfare. That means no unnecessary harm, just responsible sourcing that aligns with our values of respect and transparency.

And if you're looking for high-performance synthetic alternatives, we've got those too!

For more details please check out our technology page.

Answer:

At KOMBI, we believe in giving back to the planet that gives us winter. That’s why we’ve partnered with veritree, a leading restoration platform that helps businesses like ours plant trees and restore ecosystems around the world.

Our collaboration began in 2024, as part of the 10-year anniversary of our Timeless gloves and mitts—for every pair sold, we planted one tree.

We’ve now made this a yearly brand commitment: KOMBI will plant at least 20,000 trees every year with veritree to help fight climate change and support the long-term health of cold-weather environments.

Even better, you can track the impact in real time on our Forever Winter landing page, including the number of trees planted, tonnes of CO₂ to be sequestered, and hectares restored.

Because at KOMBI, protecting winter isn’t just part of our story — it’s our responsibility.

Finding the right products

Answer:

Finding your perfect fit? We’ve got you covered.
Start with our size chart — it will walk you through the measurements step by step for all our products.

Need help? Our customer care team is always happy to lend a hand—warmly, of course.

Answer:

You’re not alone! If your hands are constantly freezing, go for products with a Warmth Factor 4—our warmest styles.

We also have our heated collection that will keep you really warm and toasty!

Some quick tips:

🧤 Mittens over gloves = fewer seams = better heat retention.
🔥 Add liners or hand warmers—gloves trap heat; they don’t generate it.
🧼 Sweaty hands? Opt for synthetic insulation like Primaloft® or Ultraloft®

👌 Fit matters. Too tight? You’ll lose airflow or cut off circulation and actually make your hands colder. A little extra wiggle room is a good thing.

🌨️ Want max protection? Choose gloves with waterproof-breathable membranes like GORE-TEX® or WATERGUARD®.

Still not sure? Shoot us a message and we’ll help match you to your mitten soulmate.

Answer:

We don’t list exact temperatures, because everyone feels cold differently (activity level, circulation, wind, humidity, etc.).

Here’s our scale:
Warmth level 1 – Our light gloves and mitts provide enough warmth for chilly days in the city or high-intensity activities.

Warmth level 2 – Our versatile, lightly insulated gloves and mitts offer a comfortable level of warmth for a multitude of moderate-intensity winter activities on cold days.

Warmth level 3 – Our warm gloves and mitts feature high-performance components to keep your hands dry and warm in very cold temperatures.

Warmth level 4 – Our extra-warm gloves and mitts feature our most advanced water and wind protection with the best insulation for maximum warmth.

Answer:

🧼Skip the washing machine. It can damage the outer fabric, wear down waterproof coatings, and mess with the cozy lining.
🧽Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Think gentle wipe-down, not a scrub session.
🔥No high heat! Tumble drying on high or placing gloves directly on a heater can break down materials.

💨Air dry instead. Hang them up or lay them flat near a heat source (but not touching it). Low tumble dry is okay if the label says so.

Treat them right, and they’ll return the favour—winter after winter.

Answer:

Choosing a base layer is all about matching your activity level, temperature, and personal comfort. At Kombi, we offer a range of technical fabrics and warmth levels so you can layer smart—whatever winter throws your way.

Start with the weight:

Lightweight (ACTIVE): Great for high-intensity adventures and milder days. Think ski touring, trail runs or chasing your kids uphill.

Midweight (PRO): A versatile go-to for everyday cold-weather layering.

Heavyweight (EXTREME): Built for frigid temps and slower-paced activities when staying warm is your top priority.

Then, pick your fabric tech:

RedHEAT: Powered by visible thermoregulating microcrystals that balance your body temp like a built-in thermostat. It’s breathable, quick-drying, odour-fighting, and super soft—available in ACTIVE, PRO, and EXTREME weights.

MerinoMIX: Our hybrid of natural Merino wool and stretch synthetics. Merino brings warmth and breathability, while synthetics add softness, odour resistance, and durability. Offered in ACTIVE (145g/m²) and PRO (180g/m²).

Polartec®: Lightweight, eco-conscious performance layers made with recycled plastic. Choose Power Dry (120g/m²) for intense movement, or Power Grid (170g/m²) for extra warmth and airflow.

Need help deciding?

For high-output sports like skiing or snowshoeing: go for RedHEAT ACTIVE, MerinoMIX ACTIVE, or Polartec® Power Dry.

If you’re always cold, reach for RedHEAT EXTREME, RedHEAT PRO, or MerinoMIX PRO.

Want to keep it sustainable? Our Polartec® collection is made from recycled materials.

Answer:

Think of it like a sandwich:

Base layer: Wicks moisture (like merino or technical synthetics)

Mid layer: Traps heat (like fleece or insulated styles)

Outer layer: Blocks wind and snow (like a weatherproof shell or jacket)
Mix and match based on your activity and the forecast. Not sure where to start? We’re happy to help you build your winter layering system.

Answer:

It depends on your feet—and your forecast.

At KOMBI, we design socks by activity level, insulation type, and targeted support, so you get warmth where and when you need it most. Whether you're hitting the slopes, walking the dog, or braving your morning commute, we've got you covered from heel to toe.

First, pick your weight:

Heavyweight: Maximum warmth and cushioning for freezing temps and low-intensity outings.

Midweight: Balanced insulation and padding for most winter sports and all-day comfort.

Lightweight: Breathable and moisture-wicking for high-output activities like skiing or snowshoeing.

Extra Lightweight: Minimal bulk with targeted support—ideal for intense movement like winter running.

Then, choose your category:

Ski Natural Blend & Ski Synthetic: Engineered for performance with strategic arch and ankle support.

Outdoor: Rugged comfort and weather-ready tech for snow hikes or ice fishing.

Everyday: Cozy, versatile warmth designed for daily wear.

Our socks feature a mix of thermal tech—to regulate moisture, fight odours, and keep feet dry in any condition.

🔥Want extra firepower? Our Heated Socks feature rechargeable warmth with adjustable heat levels. Perfect for long days on the hill or seriously cold toes.

Pro tip: Even the best socks can’t outmatch a pair of damp, tight boots. Keep it roomy and dry for the full KOMBI effect.

Warranty

Answer:

Check out our Warranty Page for full details.

Because when you invest in warmth, you deserve peace of mind too.

Answer:

At KOMBI, we take pride in crafting high-quality accessories that are built to last. 🧵 But occasionally, something slips through the cracks.

A manufacturing defect means a part of the product didn’t come together the way it was meant to during production. That could look like:
• A seam that comes undone too soon
• A zipper that won’t zip properly
• Stitching that unravels abnormally
• A strap that breaks under regular use

In short, if it’s a flaw in how the product was built—not caused by wear, accidents, or how it’s used—it may qualify.

Not sure if your issue counts? Just send us a photo. Our team is here to keep you warm and worry-free.

Answer:

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects—but there are a few things it doesn’t include. Here's what falls outside the coverage:

🧥Regular wear and tear – like fading, pilling, looser fit, feathers escaping, or natural odours from use
🧼Improper care – always follow the care label instructions inside your product
🪡Accidental damage – snags, tears, or holes from sharp objects or rough handling
🧊Cold hands due to sizing or activity mismatch – if a glove is too small or not suited to your activity, it won’t perform at its best
🧳Lost, stolen, or altered items – including anything missing tags or labels

Still unsure? Fill out our warranty form online. Make sure to provide all the necessary information.

Should I contact KOMBI if I’m still within the store’s return window?
If you just bought your KOMBI product, your best bet is to start with the store where you made the purchase.

Each retailer has their own return policy—some offer refunds, exchanges, or store credit within a set number of days, usually between 15-30 days should be noted on your receipt.

Since our warranty kicks in after the retailer’s policy ends, we’re not able to process returns or exchanges during that initial window.

Tip: Check your receipt or call the store to confirm their policy timeline. Once it’s passed, we’ve got you covered under our extended warranty.

Need help figuring out where to start? Reach out here—we’ll help point you in the right direction.

Answer:

No problem! If your store’s warranty period has expired, you can submit a warranty claim directly to us.

📝 Just fill out the warranty online form.

The more complete your form, the faster we can process your request. Missing details can slow things down—but don’t worry, we’re here to help.

We’ll get back to you within 5-7 business days.
Thanks for your patience—and for trusting KOMBI to keep you warm and covered.
